A criminal law enthusiast turned full-service advocate, Siddhant Mohanty founded SM Legal in 2017 after completing his LL.M. with Merit from Queen Mary University of London — bringing a rigorous global legal perspective to the courts of Odisha.
With over eight years of independent practice, Siddhant has successfully conducted complex trials and achieved critical acquittals across district and sessions courts in high-stakes matters involving dacoity, attempt to murder, narcotics, POCSO, the Indian Explosives Act, and the Arms Act.
He regularly argues sensitive bail and discharge petitions before the Hon'ble High Court of Odisha, and routinely commands proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) Cuttack Bench, alongside State and District Consumer Forums.
Beyond traditional defense work, Siddhant strategically advises corporations, commercial banks, and NBFCs on corporate compliance, commercial contracts, IBC restructuring matters, and real estate title due diligence. Deeply committed to institutional integrity, he personally represents insolvent individuals and distressed women pro bono — ensuring access to justice remains the definitive founding pillar of the firm.
